Boidobra

Four kilometers from the county seat, the parish of Boidobra is located on the right bank of the river Zêzere. Its origins date back to the twelfth century. It was elevated to the category of village on May 20, 1993.

Although not mentioned in the 1258 Inquiries, as it was a foreigner to the Crown and Covilhã, it is believed that some lordship there had assets or, at least, was a patronage of the Church of Santo André, since, after the 19th century XII and, certainly, by donation, appears as curate of the presentation of the Monastery of Lorvão. According to the Parish Statistics of 1864, the presentation was from the Convent of São Bernardo, in Coimbra.
