PR12 CVL – Forest Route
Circular route, which follows easy-to-progress paths, aims to enhance the exploration of the natural heritage in loco, creating a vehicle for exploring the ancestral relationship between the city of Covilhã and Serra da Estrela. Leaving the Alexandre Aibéu Park, you can explore the valleys of Ribeira da Carpinteira and Ribeira da Goldra (also known as Ribeira dos Pisões) and discover the area of the city’s National Forest.
On this route, the connection between the water that flows here and the wool industry is quite visible, allowing, along the way, to discover old factories, refurbished buildings, chimneys and a toponymy related to this activity.
The main points of interest are: the Rosa Negra Forest and the textile factories of Sineiro.
