Route of the Churches
The municipality of Covilhã, in particular the historic center, has a religious heritage of great beauty and enormous historical value that, in addition to preserving, it is important to make known, first of all to the inhabitants of Covilhã, but also to visitors and tourists, who are driven by curiosity, can see and know what this city has to offer and the best and most genuine.
The “Route of the Churches of Covilhã” is therefore a project that aims to create a visitable route, with the objective of enhancing the historical-religious heritage and the development of cultural and religious tourism in the municipality.
This, integrates altogether 11 temples of the city, which are open at a predetermined time, being possible to visit them and obtain a more in-depth knowledge about its history, with evident cultural and even other nature benefits.
The route can be complemented with a visit to the Museum of Sacred Art.
