The name “Quinta do Circo” derives from “Quinta do Cerco”, a property surrounded by canadas (paths of the shepherds). The convenience of language led the people to use “Circo” instead of “Cerco” and, if it was secularly called Quinta do Circo, it will continue to do so out of respect for the use and tradition of popular language.
It has 2 stone houses, typically mountain ranges equipped with central heating, air conditioning, fireplace and free Wi-Fi. Guests can prepare their own meals in the fully equipped kitchen.
It has a swimming pool, terrace with barbecue and wood oven. In summer, the riverside, which passes at the bottom of the Quinta, hides in its crystal clear waters some natural pools for those who prefer a dip in nature.
Quinta do Circo is located on the southern slope of Serra da Estrela (protected area of the Natural Park), at the foot of the Varanda dos Pastores, 800 m above sea level, next to the village of Bouça, which is implanted in the terraces of the mountain, it becomes nativity scene, when lit; the snow that, often, wears white, the whole farm, together with the mountains and the village houses, make this place a unique place.
It is 25 km from the Penhas da Saúde / Torre plateaus along the national road via Covilhã. It has direct access to Penhas da Saúde (8km) with an all terrain vehicle.
