Located in the surrounding area of the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, on the Southwest of Serra da Estrela , 600 meters above sea level, one of the few Portuguese regions blessed with snowfall. About 20 km from the city of Covilhã, the Quinta da Vargem , with its 460 ha offers you a spectacular view over the mountains and the opportunity to spend a few days in full harmony with nature with all the comfort that the house offers.
All of its 7 rooms have a private bathroom, air conditioning and the various living rooms offer guests various environments and free Wi-Fi, the pleasant pool area, garden and tennis court are also available to customers, allowing customers your customers benefit from a calm stay and personalized treatment.
It has a privileged location in one of the unique glacial valleys in the country, where Ribeira de Unhais da Serra runs, surrounded by a vast forest and varied fauna, where various agricultural activities are developed .
The family has its own vineyards and cellar that can be visited at harvest time or for a tasting of its already awarded wines. Still inside the farm we have a cheese shop where the famous Serra Cheese is made seasonally, and guests can participate in its manufacture.
During the Autumn / Winter season there are also mycological tours (wild mushroom picking), visits to the region’s historical heritage, conversations with shepherds, getting to know the Serra da Estrela Dog and other curiosities of mountain life. In any season, whether hot or cold, the area is very inviting for hiking and tracking.
