Sauce Pastry
Tasty puff pastry filled with braised meat, it was, in the 1920s, taken by textile workers from Covilhã for lunch, as, in addition to keeping very well, it helped to regain strength, since it was eaten as if it was a soup. For this, the pastry was placed on a soup plate and the sauce (saffron or black tea) was poured hot on top. It was covered with another plate to smother it and the pastry opened and could be eaten with a spoon, as if it were a soup. It can, however, be eaten plain, which is also delicious.
