Lagoa Comprida

PNSE - Serra da Estrela

It is an unmissable stop. It is the largest lagoon in the mountains and has a glacier origin. Its “special” shape is the result of geological and climatic phenomena verified over centuries.

This is the largest of the Serra’s lagoons and aims to produce electricity. However, in addition to being able to appreciate the aquatic environment of the lagoon, the area is also known for its surroundings.

For the visitor who climbs the mountain, this place is almost mandatory. Here, it is customary to see whole families in the warm “ snowball war ” or in the wonder of the construction of the first snowman of the trip.
