General Information

It is now possible to get to know the past of the municipality of Covilhã better in a museum where all the periods of occupation of the territory are represented, promoting at the same time a reflection on the present and the future.

Housed in an Art Nouveau building by Ernesto Korrodi, which housed the former premises of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino in the 20th century, the Covilhã Museum is dedicated to presenting the county’s extensive and diverse heritage.

The Museum intends to be a dissemination and playful instrument that, using varied, accessible and inclusive resources, teaches the history of Covilhã to the diversity of the population and visitors – locals and tourists, people with different physical and psychological conditions, of different ages.

In the “Museum” circuit, you can learn more about several of the contents presented in the permanent exhibition. On the “City” circuit you can discover the most important built heritage of the city.

The APP is free and available in online stores Google Play (Android) and iTunes (iOS)
